The window to my left reveals the top of the building. Originally white, but grayed over the years. It matches the sky, painted with clouds promising rain. I'm sitting in a yellow plastic chair, typing at an out-dated computer; I haven't seen one of these in forever. Every one's staring bright eyed and dazed at the television set, watching something involving Will Smith. My paranoid headphones blaring impatiently for the bell. I'm dying to go out on that roof.
An announcement over the intercom tells anyone who's paying attention that students are no longer allowed to go out on the patio during lunch. There are not enough chairs, space for that matter, for everyone to crowd inside the cafeteria. According to what happens to me in a situation like that, one of which I do not care to relive, I'm pretty pissed.
