Yesterday I felt completely crazy when I got here. I am reading ¨Slaughterhouse 5¨ and I think I also felt ¨unstuck in time¨. Eleven hours of sleep, a decent cup of coffee, some successful tourism and a good lunch later I feel a lot better. I spent a lot of time this morning in the central park reading Vonnegut then I managed to find the bus to the zoo-bird rehabilitation center. There were a lot of amazing animals there, and I took a bunch of pictures. Hopefully I will be able to upload them at some point later. The zoo was really geared toward educational stuff about the environment, since many of the animals they save are sold on the pet market or are poached illegally. But I had to stop and laugh when I saw a painting of a turtle holding viagra that said something in Spanish about how that wasn´t a solution for turtles to produce more eggs.

I also finished most of ¨Bitch¨ and ¨Harper´s¨ along with about one-third of ¨Slaughterhouse¨. It is nice to have time to read so much, and I can´t believe that I have lived this long without reading more Vonnegut, which is something I always meant to do since I worked at the AHA. But I´ve also really weighed my bag down with books. I may have to mail some back home or just leave them at the hostel book exchanges along the way.

I forgot about the keyboard differences here, but I will have to apologize in advance since I cannot use spell check or certain kinds of punctuation.
