after 5 days in brazil any confidence i ever had in my ability to speak/understand portuguese has been shot to hell. which is ok since so many people here speak english that if you start trying to speak portuguese after letting you struggle for a few minutes they will just answer in english. i have to go because my time is up! tchau!
