Life Lesson

I've been working on my shed, off and on for about a year.

On Wednesday, I finally got it to the point that it was resealed and where I could close the door. I haven't been back to the shed since then, there was a thing with the babysitter and it rained on Thursday evening, so I just walked out for the first time and when I opened the door, I was greeted by three tiny kittens. I could hear more, but it took some looking to determine that they're in a hollow space under a cabinet. I knew that a stray had been hanging around the shed and I worked on it a lot over the holiday weekend, but I really didn't know she had any kittens. Now, the door is propped back open and I'm hoping that the mother will return and carry them off because if not, then I guess it'll be the shelter and that's not really something that I'd look forward to do.

Update: The mommy kitty came and started carrying out the young, but she's just moved them to another part of the yard and under a pile of tin that I need to get recycled. I don't really think the pile would collapse in the wind, but I had hoped she'd take them out of the yard. It's walled with a couple of gates, so the kittens can't get out under their own accord and their voices are echoing off the metal.
