The last thing that I'd like to do is start an insult game, we all know the truth and the politically correct thing to say. Some of the time, I can't always swear that my daughter didn't misunderstand, but because she was proud of her bravery and had gotten quite a bit of praise, I'm sure she repeated what we had told her verbatim. If I can find an opportune way to argue about the meaning of bravery, I'll probably bring it up, but I'm seeing this more as an eroding factor. There has to come some point, when I might step over the line or when enough discussions has taken place that my daughter loses a little respect for her teachers.

I'm trying not to get to that point and am trying to make a conscious effort, but because I'm one of those people that often falls back onto pure logic, I guess I'm anticipating a problem that may not have yet occurred. Enough discussions have taken place around here tonight that my daughter might end up repeating what I've said, so a discussion of bravery might soon ensue and at that time, I'll probably also throw in the bit about the desert. But, I'm new at this kid in school thing and if nothing else, I've learned from the various PTA and committee meetings that many of those in a position of authority are pretty stuck in their ways.

I mean in the whole scheme of things, the definition of bravery wasn't one of their lessons and it might not be important, it's more of the fact that she contradicted us and as I said in the post, her definition doesn't make a lick of sense. I'd hate to keep a tally board, but if this trend continues, there may actually come a time that I feel the need to bring it up.
