New Story: Images False and True by PFL

Oct 16, 2007 22:17

So, I wasn't going to participate in the Discovered in the Anarchist Cookbook challenge because, well, my time is not my own right now! But...I got to thinking about the concept of Punk Rock, and images, and...this is what happened. The connection with punk rock might be somewhat...tenuous but it is there. At least in my mind. *g*

I can so see this, Bodie totally losing it out of fear for Doyle. And leave it to Doyle to think he wasn't as completely hooked. :-)

Great story, and what a great way to start the morning!

Thank you! It is great to find a story when you're not really expecting it, isn't it? I'm looking forward to catching up with all the stories I missed in August and September.

The relationship dynamics in this story are kind of holding onto me, I'm finding. I might...need to rework it and expand it. It sort of developed as I was writing. *g*

wow ... Beserker rage ... that was so exhilerating *g* I loved your raging/ice cool Bodie, and Doyle's smile at the thought of the image Bodie had of him . Also enjoyed speculating how they would "improvise" in bed ... Nice last line too. So glad you decided to play!

Thank you! I really, really didn't expect to play but...this sort of took hold on me. I'm still thinking about it, I'm finding, so I might just expand it. Mind you, I've no idea how they'll improvise either.... *g*

I'm glad you mentioned the smile. Another reader had trouble with it and I was trying to explain...but I think it's something that each reader needs to interpret for herself.

It's always a bit weird (good weird!) reading a slash piece that has a completely canon feel about it. And this one has precisely that effect. Wonderfully observed characterisation. Thanks for (as ever) a fantastic read. :)

See, I love stories that are kind of like the show with benefits. *g* Although it's weird...I'm kind of into another fandom just now that I might write for and I'm thinking that I can do with canon what I please there. I'm not tied to it. But with Pros...I love the canon so that I can't imagine straying far from it. It's just endlessly fascinating to play with--what does Doyle mean when he says in DIAG that he didn't care enough? Does Bodie know he's whacking Doyle in the fight scene in "Wild Justice". Stuff like that. Canon and Pros...just works for me. *g*

Thank you so much for commenting!

Doyle took in a breath. They had to be equal in this. “You’re the only one who can hurt me, Bodie. The only fucking one. Do you understand?” I love this line and all that it means. This is a great look at what can make Bodie snap, and what can bring him back. I love the way you write these two, they always have such a canon feel to them.

Thank you! Canon is important to me. I love the show for a reason, after all. *g* I've heard it said that some writers are just particularly well suited for a single fandom. I don't know--I'd hate to think I can't write in other fandoms--but I do feel very comfortable in the Pros universe. And there are so many stories to tell!

Oh, very Doyle, so cool and calm-seeming at the beginning, dealing with it all... Very nice! Anarchy of the heart, eh? *g*

Anarchy of the heart, eh?
That's pretty much the basis of all Pros slash stories, isn't it?

Thanks!
