and oh, by the byeasymphototropicApril 30 2007, 23:51:16 UTC
To anyone who enjoyed "Contrary Virtue", my ficcage contribution to "Discovered in Temptation", I have commenced writing and posting the sequel. Part 1 can be found at:
Oh now, that's a nice start to the May Day festivities! I enjoyed every bit of it, from the conversation between the tarps, to the action, to the reporting to Cowley, and after. I love their opposite explanations about the brief to Cowley! Gosh and so many lines that I like:
"What do you imagine you're doing?" Heh
"Too easy," Bodie assessed as they cuffed the miscreants. "Where's the joy of it, I ask you?" Too right.
But, especially (because I'm a sap): "Knew you'd be there." Bodie draped his arm over Doyle's shoulder. "Was right. Mayday. Bah."
Aw. Greetings to my favorite 'sap'. Thanks for stopping by to chat.
Tried to cram a little of everything into this so-brief oneshot. Worked at the inaction, the action, and the good humor. But have to confess, the sap came quite spontaneously at the end.
Marina! Happy May Day. [presents a bouquet of violets with a ribbon and a flourish]
I must here confess to admiring the Findon Public Loo, and praise it. It is in the perfect location, and it is very clean and nice. Hope the good folks of Findon will forgive me for staging a fictional drugs drop there. The Cissbury Rings are spectacular, so worth a visit. I heartily recommend them to anyone contemplating a tour.
Glad you liked the Cowley lines. I've been trying to become better acquainted with him. He strikes me as very bold, and with a great sense of humor.
Interesting that Song of Solomon starts with SOS. Should have tried to work that into the Mayday theme, but don't think this tiny fic would have tolerated any more verbiage.
Did anyone explain to Rimmer about 'm'aidez', or was he left wondering? [don't know Red Dwarf. In our forest, we are lucky to receive the ABC Evening News if the weather conditions permit. Not alot of TV makes it through to us. meh.]
Understood. A bit bleak, that. I think Stravinsky's notion of celebrating the Rite of Spring comes a lot closer to the heart than the Worldwide Workers' Vanguard, eh? Perhaps coming back to our primitive love of life offers us a more universally appreciated symbol? Just a thought...
