- My father is having heart bypass surgery on Friday morning. I'll be working from home and taking frequent updates from his wife. It's good having actually talked to my dad about it, finally. The word from the doctor is that it's a very optimistic lookout. Dad's in good shape, all things considered, and the surgery should go smoothly and well. Encouraging.
- I bought my first ever new computer today. It's mine! I'm not sure if I'll keep this Gateway with a little more power and media might or trade it in for the slightly cheaper Dell with the friendlier keyboard/mousepad. I'll give it a week and decide. Still, it's nice that four people pooled Xmas present money to make it possible for me to have a nice, new machine.
- I may have found a partner in crime for a certain project. But enough about that.
- Shadowing on Sunday was very sad and smelly by turns. The doctor I'm shadowing was very unhappy to diagnose a two-year-old with a brain tumor. And an older alcoholic man was brought in caked in his own black, tarry stool, which caused all of us to put on masks for the overpowering stench. Yikes. I'm thinking emergency would be a pretty rewarding and interesting field. I hear very good things about orthopedics, specifically for PAs, too.
- My cat is OLD and LOUD.
