So the news of this much better week:

Later half of TCFI rehearsal on Sunday was phenomenal. We really worked “Only the Good Die Young” really heard and took it from being an absolute train-wreck to being performable tomorrow.

Katie got the solo for “Only the Good Die Young”

Nomi got the solo for “Bonny Brook”

Saw “Brokeback Mountain” as instructed by Nick. Beautiful, deeply moving and extremely sad movie. It was important that I saw it, though I will never see it again.

New friends are fun

Last weekend was much needed on a lot of different levels. It helped me get myself grounded in my friendships, school work, and in my voice / musicianship. (also one of the most amusing weekends I’ve had in a wile which always helps)

BUCO is one amazing community. Over the last few weeks I’ve really realized how subtly protective each member is of everyone else in the minyan and the established traditions and rituals that make up shabbus. Everyone is genuinely concerned about each other’s wellbeing. It’s an amazing feeling to be apart of such a wonderful community that really is an entity in itself.

I think that kind of sums it up for right now. Provided I make it through my psych exam in one piece tomorrow morning I’ll be very happy.  Oh well. At least I have the concert to look forward to tomorrow too.

Saw mommy today and gave her her gift. I think she liked it. It was really good to see her, get off campus, and get updated on the happenings at the “Looney Bin”. Makes me sad though that Ben’s not continuing with chorus (or maybe Madrigals. He has the talent to get in (and he’s male which always helps in a high school chorus)). He really seemed to enjoy it this year. Maybe I had this weird notion / hope that maybe my brother would be following in my footsteps. I also was hoping that he would at least do one semester of Nursing Home. I worked so hard on that project and for so long I hoped my brother would have wanted to enjoy it at least once. I actually think he would. He’s an extremely personable sort of guy and the program centers not only around music but making connections with the elderly as well. Oh well.
