His tongue pressed against the hollow between her collarbones, and he stayed there, his forehead warm against her breast. She pushed her fingers through his too short, too dark hair and smiled softly.
“That,” she said, as she pulled his head up for kiss and heard footsteps approach the door, “is exactly the point.”

The corner of his mouth lifted into one of his rare half-smiles. His hand slid down the side of her neck and under the collar of her shirt. “That’s okay,” he murmured, the pad of his thumb sweeping over her collarbone in gentle strokes, his fingers warm against her shoulder. “It’s not like I was looking for her to begin with.”
Her arms went around him almost automatically. “I - is that so?” She was panting, now, shallow and soft, as he briefly touched the top of her breast. Her nails dug into his back almost painfully when he pressed a closed-lip kiss to the corner of her eye. “O - okay then.”
He pulled away and looked down at her, eyes dark. “Okay?”
She swallowed hard and met his gaze, and even though the nod she gave him was weak, her smile was encouraging. “Okay.”

“Well,” Kairi said, watching as a tall blonde swept a girl in his arms dramatically and leered. “This place is… uh…”
“Retarded?” Riku supplied, loosening the tie on his uniform. They were standard issue for the world, it seemed; Riku, Kairi and Sora had all been shoved into three separate change rooms upon arriving and forced into them. He couldn’t really complain, though - after all, he wasn’t the one wearing four layers of silk and a high collar in June heat. He shot Kairi a sympathetic look. “Yeah, I know.”
Kairi slapped his arm lightly and leaned over the edge of the building. They were currently hiding just out of sight on the roof of the school’s main building. The boys had nearly been mauled by a group of overenthusiastic, screaming girls when they’d stepped onto the school grounds, and neither Kairi nor Riku had found Sora yet.
“Oh, don’t be like that,” Kairi admonished. “It’s really not that bad.”
Riku snorted and looked out towards the clock tower. “I found Sora,” he said, pointing.
Kairi blinked and followed his gaze. Sure enough, scrambling up the side of the school’s clock tower was Sora, Oathkeeper in hand. Below him, a crowd of girls had gathered. She winced as they all cheered and swooned. “Um.”
“Still think it’s ‘not that bad?’” Riku deadpanned, scratching his ear.
Kairi shot him a sheepish smile. “On second thought…”
Riku smirked at her. “You know,” he began, bumping her with his shoulder, “we should probably get him down from there.”
Kairi sighed, lips quirking, and summoned Heartschain. “Okay,” she said, getting to her feet. “Let’s do this.”

The twin nuzzling her head moved so his chin sat on her shoulder and raised an eyebrow. “What are you -”
“- her boyfriend?” The twin on her left’s lips were dangerously close to her ear when he said, “by the way, I’m Kaoru.”
“And I’m Hikaru.” The other twin smirked. Kairi sighed and gestured towards the boys in front of them.
“These are my best friends,” she said tonelessly. “That’s Angry,” she pointed at Riku. Then she motioned to Sora. “And that’s Amused.”
“Nice to meet you,” Kaoru said, tone mocking. Riku spluttered and Sora snickered into his hand. “We’re going to dress up your not-girlfriend now.”
Hikaru took her wrist between his long, thin fingers, and Kaoru took the other. As they began dragging her down the hall, towards a set of large, white double doors, Kairi said, “I didn’t sign up for this.”
Behind them, Riku pulled back his arm and threw Way to Dawn.
Sora just kept laughing.
