Fondue, and Disco, and Literature....oh my!

Last semester wrapped up pretty well. My poem about Celery (and how it is the spawn of the devil) was published in the fall edition of the campus literary magazine, Avatar. I also was cast in The Vagina Monologues doing "My Vagina Was My Village." It's intense, but I've gotten really good feedback so far. The performance dates are February 9 - 11.
My break was filled with working mostly. I did get 2 grad applications sent in. Hardly worked on my SMP at all though. I having a meeting with my mentor on Monday so I'm going to try and work out a schedule of deadlines with her (X number of pages due this day) because that will make me work on it more.

Since returning to school, there have been a very many parties (lots of January birthdays). First was the 3rd (2nd I attended) Litter-ature party where we eat tiny quiches, drink wine, dress fabulous, act pretentious and read ridiculous literature. The next night was Caitlinfest '07 the Disco Edition. I actually wore some of my Mom's clothes from the '70s which we found a couple of years back. The following night was Aaron's party with Chocolate fondue (delicious), Apples to Apples, and Twister which was tons of fun. The night after that was dinner at the Thai restaurant (found through the ice and snow) for Alice's birthday. Now the coming weekend features a joint-birthday party for Amy and Erica which is Biblical themed and a Gods & Goddesses party thrown by Alice and Karen. But, I'm going home for Sphinx's 10th birthday (cause she's awesome like that). I'm really bummed about missing the parties though because I could have whipped up some great ensembles.

In addition to writing my SMP, I'm taking 2 classes (instead of 3 since I have enough credits) but they're both supposedly intense classes which are required for my major: Socio-Cultural Theory, and Research Methods. So far so good.

Oh! Also, my mom surprised me with a Wii for Christmas because I have been talking about it for a really long time, like since they first announced it and said I would eventually get one. I played it a bunch at home (getting free games from the video store I worked at). But I haven't had much time to play it here. I was offered (and accepted) a job at Historic St. Mary's City's archaeology lab as a glass conservator though so that's another thing to fill my time. Whatever, it's my last semester and I'm just trying to do as much as I can and enjoy it all.
