I wanted to hop on here and give a huge update, but now that I'm staring at the screen I don't have much to say. I'm about to go have brunch downtown and then head over to my parents. I haven't seen them in a while and my step-dad wants his movie back (I borrowed Robin Hood with Russell Crowe about a month ago).
I stopped taking all my medicine a while back. Well, I say 'all my medicine,' when in fact it is just two pills. I take a pill for my stomach/gut and an antidepressant, or I used to until I subconsciously stopped taking them both. That's how I'm explaining it to myself anyway. It sounds better than I'm just too stupid to remember to take two pills once a day. I haven't been able to tell a difference in how I feel without the medication, so I guess that's a good sign. The past few days my moods have been slipping more than usual though. I may have to go back to taking them again. We'll see.
I've been getting into essential oils and natural perfumery lately. I've been trying to mix together a scent that was supposed to be like the one found in Tutankhamen's tomb, which is a mix of Frankincense and Spikenard in a fat oil base. The spikenard I have smells like booze and I think it's already in a carrier oil, which complicates things. Frankincense smells like a barnyard with a cypress tree. I discovered this when I wore it by itself one day to work. So, they're not kidding when they say it's earthy. Dung, hay, and a cypress tree...pretty earthy if you ask me. Anyway, I started with those two but have since added Myrrh and Cedarwood to try to even it out. Apparently I'm doomed to failure with this since as far as perfuming rules go frankincense, spikenard, and myrrh are all base notes and cedarwood is a top note. Where do we go from here? I think if I wore the smell as it is I would smell like I had been drinking heavily the night before and also stepped in something.
