yesterday or should i say two days ago i went to Shonen Jump Philly to play children's card games(yu-gi-oh!) with Alex Martin. we took the speed line to get there and met up with daryl and his team. one thing i wont quite grasp about yu-gi-oh is that there are teams and we're supposed to fear them. ok? but anyway, so when we got to the PA convention center we met up with a bunch of the All Things Fun people including Ciro returning his name back into the yu-gi-oh world. my first match was a mirror match. playing monarchs vs monarchs is never fun. it seemed like he was playing a build similar to dale bellido's build from a previous shonen jump but anyway i won the first match and then second i got killed after misplaying a couple of times including setting a pair of pulling the rugs and falling into pro-storm and setting anothering spell/trap with treeborn out but i took the third game so i started the jump with a record of 1-0. my second match wasnt so good playing another mirror match against monarchs. won the first game and lost the second game due to a stupid misplay after a late confiscation revealing his brain control and tributing for zarborg instead of soul exchanging for it. and then i lost the 3rd game against him due to a loss of advantage after a treeborn stand off. so my current record was 1-1. my third match wasnt' a very good one. i had a bad feeling about this opponent when i noticed it was a guy that i've seen talk to pro players. then as the match slips came out i noticed it was Kris Perovic who i believe is 2nd in new jersey. oh ok so i get matched up against a pro player playing DDT. after a long first game he won since D fusion is just way too good. and third match after some careful siding i surprisingly won after having a hand of 4 monarchs and 2 spell cancelers i was able to get a spell canceler on the field which totally rules against DDT i would suggest it anyday. and third match i lost after having a great opening of banisher and royal oppression being stomped on by chiron the mage. sad day. my record is 1-2. one thing i dont get about the pro players is that the dress like gangsters and preps. and they play children's card games for a living and fly out to every huge tournament. ok what kind of image are they trying to uphold? i dunno. i dont get it. but i played my 4th match against ANOTHER mirror match and lost due to just horrible-ness. so me and alex left with our 1-3 records, dropped, and called it a day so i went home and hung out with gianna and amanda.
