Influential Guidance
They say that friends are the biggest influence
The ones to be true and always make sense
Well people like us realize that's not all true
It's been proven wrong for those like me and you
We've seen all too much to make us believe
There's been too much pain for them to relieve
But one thing I know to always be right
As long as you need it, I'm there for you all night
I may never have met you technically they say
But you've been there much longer than any care to stay
Very few people will help out at all
Very few people will cushion the fall
But when something goes wrong and it all turns to shit
Helping you makes it better, if only for a little but
And if we lose touch along this tough road
