oh, by the way

I also wanted to make a run-down of my film & lit progress so far this summer.

let's start with the books:
Harry Potter books 1-4

that's it...I was hoping to have read more by now, but since HP #4 was 800 pages, it took a toll. Almanac of thea dead was about the same...I got about 100 pages into it and WSC...so..technically I've read a few more than it seems. But still! I have so many to go!

Almanac of the Dead (started it, not too into it, gonna quit)
A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami (started it, loved it, now I have to give it back to the library 'cause it's on hold..poo! I'll get Kafka on the Shore tomorrow instead)

Film:
I've done somewhat better in this arena.

In theatres:
Batman Begins
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
Bewitched
Fantastic Four (more like horrible zeros, and I'm not keeping that in lower case 'cause it's cool like e.e. Cummings)
Herbie: Fully Loaded
Adventures of Shark Boy & Lava Girl
Cinderella Man
Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Star Wars Episode III
Aprez Vous
Look At Me
Walk on Water
Mad Hot Ballroom
Boys & Girls of County Clare
Saving Face (well, I saw the middle 2/3 of this one, but I feel like I saw it all)
eurghmm...I feel like I saw a couple more..but I suppose not.

Video & DVD:
Re-animator
The Never Ending Story
How to Draw a Bunny
Harry Potter 1-3
Beauties & the Beast

Ok, so, oui, je sais, I really need to take advantage of my free rentals at insomniac more. Right now I've got Repo Man, I'm pretty excited about watching that. My previous list remains to be sufficiently tapped, though. Re-animator's the only one I could put a check mark next to.

Best movies & books so far:
Best book: Harry Potter 2 (would have been 3 if I hadn't seen the movie first)
Best theatre movie: Batman Begins
Best rental: Re-animator (duh)
Close 2nds: Mad Hot Ballroom, Walk on Water, Apres Vous (err, well..maybe...but under different criterion)
Honorable mention: Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
Honorable whisper: Bewitched (there was a segment of about 30-45 minutes in the middle that was farging hilarious!), Shark boy & lava girl ('cause it was a family production & we all know Robert Rodriguez's accompanying repertoire...the man's got barrels and barrels of integrity...and David Arquette was in it..and it was in 3D..okay...dude this get's an honorable *yell*)
shit pie in the face: Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Fantastic Four, Beauties & the Beast
