because we've all grown up in a world where perfection is shown to be acheivable, even though its not. you can start with the magazine covers which have to be airbrushed for people as beautiful as whatever celebrity you wish to name...i think a lot of us are having trouble understanding that

If you pause to think about it, you are not looking for someone who is perfect. You are not looking for someone who is flawless, as much as it may seem so. You are looking for someone who is perfect FOR YOU. We are all looking for that person who's flaws and imperfections compliment our own. And we have every right to do so. Yet at the same time we all have these concerns and premonitions that we will never find "the perfect" guy or gal because we do have this inherent understanding that pure perfection is a myth, and that even if it did exist it would be really boring. So what we instead try to find is that person who matches our own perception of perfection - that person who fills our holes and lets us fill theirs. This does not mean that opposites attract, though they often appear to. Yet this does not mean that you are searching for your twin, either. Life, I think, is spent constantly exploring multitudes of people and relationships in order to patch together a model of what aspects and characteristics and habits we seek ( ... )
