My Favorite Movies of 2010

10. Hot Tub Time Machine - This mainly made the list because of my undying love for John Cusack. The movie itself was pretty funny, unlike movies he has been doing lately. I like to look at it as sort of a throwback to his roots.

9. For Colored Girls - I will be the first one to tell you that I don't like Tyler Perry. But he totally knocked it out of the park on this one. Thankfully, this movie was Madea-Free, giving way for all the female actresses to shine. Especially Janet Jackson who's performance heartbreaking.

8. The Town - Ben Affleck's second time directing, and it was fantastic. This movie has an amazing cast, and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

7. The Fighter - I didn't think that I would like this movie as much as I did. It's one of those movies that sucks you in, and you can't help but be into it. Both Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg were so great in it.

6. Easy A - After not really caring about seeing this, I'm glad that I did. It was super funny and really cute. I'm hoping that "Teen Comedies" are moving this route in the future. It proves that you don't have to be raunchy to be funny. And Emma Stone is totally adorable.

5. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - This girl that works at the mall told me that she hated this movie and it was the worst ever. I don't really take people's word for it, but I didn't really seek this movie out. I just watched it today and I knew that it had to be on my list. I loooved it so much. It was so cute and hilarious and amazing. I wish more movies could be like this one.

4. Shutter Island - I always will be mad that this movie was promoted somewhat as a horror film...it's far from it. Leo's acting in it (one scene in particular, the lake scene...if you've seen it) is probably some one of the best in his whole career. This film is brilliant.

3. 127 Hours - James Franco has to win an award for this one. It's so sad and moving and triumphant. It reminded me so much of Into The Wild. I will be the first to admit that I did not keep my eyes open for the whole thing.

2. Inception - I saw this in the theater and I'm glad that I did. It's visually stunning and mind blowing, I can't imagine watching it on a regular screen. Leo, again at his best, was wonderful in it. This film is a masterpiece.

1. The Social Network - This was hands down the best movie that I saw in 2010. I picked it for number one because I thought it was perfect. I was so into it that I didn't even realize that it was ending until the credits started to roll. It was so interesting and cool. I know a lot of people are saying that it defines this generation and I absolutely agree. Also Andrew Garfield was so fucking fly in it.

*I couldn't include Black Swan because I never got to finish it in the theater. Then whenever I'd try to watch it online my link was taken down. Also, they technically came out in 2009 and I couldn't include them on the list: Up In the Air and A Single Man. I saw them this year and LOOOVED them both. So they deserve honorable mention.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL!
