Eventful days and busy girls!

Tiina and I acted on total impulse and booked flights to Ireland. I can't even remember where this idea came from but looks like we're leaving on 2nd of July and we'll be traveling around Ireland for 2,5 weeks. I haven't been to Ireland before so any tips, suggestions? Would be very welcome and appreciated and loved ( Read more... )

I think I love your toes, all ten of them. Do you have a following? I had no idea you had tile like that, did I ever tell you that I have a distinct weakness for small multi-colored tiles. I talked to one person once who told me you actually need a mathmatical formula for placing tiles randomly so that they don't end up matching up. And, your toenails look like pearls, very opalesque.

Q1: I really think I would like kalakukko, probably on name alone. What are your thoughts on that?

Q2: Can I have your email address? (for official use only)
I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I already have your email address, or then it was someone pretending to be me who sent you mail. But see. I have a devesatating computer problem every 8 months, or so, and, well, I lost everything I ever had, I lost you. You were lost.

This is the old irish punt. The back of the 1 punter was particularly beautiful. But it has only occured to me now that Ireland has shifted over to the euro, which ruins that whole bookmark idea.

On second thought, you should start out with oysters and Guinness. That's what I would do. I dunno if there is such a thing as a Ballycotton Fish Stew. So, start with the oysters and finish with the Whiskey Trifle. Then go home.

I really want you to send me exotic postcards from Ireland.

That is the best thing I've heard today, and it's already 10 a.m. I LOVE that.

I like the old notes. I used to have an Irish coin my father gave me in my back pocket every time I had an exam or something. I thought it was good luck but I lost it and I've done well after that as well so I guess I don't need good luck. I also liked the old Finnish notes better. Euro notes aren't particularly pretty.

A1: how on earth would you know about kalakukko? It looks like this:

are you sure you want to eat that? I know many people who are crazy about it but I've always found it... well, gross. You might like it because I've got the impression that you like to eat suspicious stuff, like rabbit kidneys and Guinness. In order to get it, you have to travel to a town called Kuopio. I'm going there next week. I'll probably end up having to buy a couple of them because I'm sure at least two people are going to ask me to.

A2 my email address for official use is eevakolu at gmail dot com.
