Buckethead - Slaughter Zone Entrance

1. Slaughter Zone Entrance

this is like darting corners
and pushing the cobwebs, scoot
scoot back into that little
peep hole
jacket
metal, ice box--this jewelry
box, I keep hidden

let me tell you
let me try
myself, this
darkling, darting
corners

let me dive

i am standing in that meadow, at the edge of the world, where the winds pause to breathe. i am standing, bare dried skin stretching against the swaying grass, the dried husks of corn, the dried husks, and my toes run over those broken cocoons of moths long gone

i am standing; my shadow darts and weaves
the empty husks
those rustling, powdery wings
i am standing
even the sun melts

medium: poem, theme: nostalgia, original, a: sinistera, artist: buckethead, 2010 january
