Okay where should I start? Two weekends ago Amy and I hired a car and road tripped our way through the Cottswalds. We managed to pick up an original Beachboys Cassette at some dodgy flea market out the back of some old church. Best 25p I've ever spent. So I suppose we were do-do-run-running through the Cottswalds rather than road tripping. It was great anyway. Not sure if it was the scenery or the warped sounds of the Beachboys on an ancient cassette that did it for me - well it was all good even if there wasn't a beach for miles.
Last weekend we headed for Paris. And wow that place rocks. It was so weird to just jump on a train and be there in three hours. Then actually benefit from exchange rates!! Highlight? Probably climbing a huge hill at sunset and sitting in the grounds of an old church watching the sunset over Paris and the lights coming on. The food rocked too - cheap three course meals everywhere we went. I was a bit disappointed by the Arc de Triomphe though. Someone told us there's an accident there every ten seconds. We sat there for about half an hour watching the traffic - nothing! Not even a couple of Frenchies screaming abuse at each other. Oh well you can't have it all.
Last night Amy and I saw I Am Kloot. They were unreal - right on. The support acts were pretty shit though. The venue was pretty amazing - just like a mini Metro only balconies jutting out everywhere. And the upstairs bar was on a full level with booths and a balcony overlooking the whole place.
So yeah we're having a good time here. Looking forward to Hefner this Friday and bummed that Beulah won't be supporting them. They're not leaving the US until things settle a little. Speaking of which London is a bit of a freaky place to be right now. Everyone is expecting the worst. We got evacuated from a tube station last night because of smoke in the tube. It wasn't anything major but whenever something out of the ordinary happens everyone immediately thinks of terrorism. Well there's been no indication that they're interested in anywhere else but the US.
That's about it.
