That's right. You must be Gabriel. This mansion is so large, and I haven't exactly explored any of it, so it's no real surprise that we haven't met yet. But Connor spoke of you.

It's a video uploading service on the Internet back home.

I am. Connor said you were hiding in the library. And that you're dead.

....oh.

ROFL Gabe, what a way with words. discessum March 11 2009, 05:09:48 UTC
Oh, well. ...Yes. I suppose both of those are true.

XD I apologize on his behalf, they don't teach tact at the Vatican. compactcrucifix March 11 2009, 05:11:56 UTC
What kind of dead? Are you a ghost? Zombie?

I'm amused. discessum March 11 2009, 05:13:57 UTC
I -

Neither. I mean. I suppose I become a ghost, as Connor states it, but for now I'm merely the City's version of the walking dead.

Is this normally how you introduce yourself?

...Oh. That's fine.

Normally I tip my hat. Can't see that from where you're sitting.

I should come find you and do it in person.

I wouldn't be opposed. I've been wanting to meet you in person, actually.

Library, then.

And don't try anything.

Nothing. [clicks off his device, keeping in mind that Connor appears to trust Wes, or at least likes him, as far as Gabe can tell. Best behavior. Sigh.]

[it doesn't take him long to get to the library, either, all told. He takes off his hat and looks around thoughtfully]

[ Even in a nice button-up and slacks, Wesley still looks terribly disheveled, and he's trying to stack the books he's marked and gone through in an orderly fashion when Gabriel arrives.

He looks up when he hears the footsteps. ]

I apologize if I crossed any lines by going through the books in here, but it appeared as if it hadn't been used in quite awhile.

[Gabriel pauses, looking down at Wesley, then around at the books, and shakes his head, struggling not to smile. Although Wes looks a mess, he doesn't 'feel' evil to Gabe, and that's enough to stymie the outright hostility the hunter was giving him earlier (but he's still not flinging handfuls of trust Wesley's way, just yet)]

That's right, it hasn't. I don't read. They're all yours.

[he does remember to tip his hat, by the way] You sure you're alright down here? You don't look well.

They were here when you arrived, then? I wonder who left them.

[ He stands from his crouch to nod in response to the hat tip. ]

I'm well enough. I just sometimes lose track of the time.

Can I ask how long you've been living with Connor?

[Gabe seriously never wondered that before Wes said it, by the way. He pauses, and then shakes his head] Dunno.

If you're sure. [he's not here to babysit Wesley, so he doesn't push the matter, turning his attention to the question, being sparing with the details]

Since he got here. Why?

[ He turns to gather another few books to place them on the recently categorized shelves. ]

I'm merely curious how well he knows you. I'm...glad to see that there's someone here he can trust enough to live with.

[ Tapping the last book's binding, he glances over his shoulder. ]

Does he know of your family's history?
