Well, Abel's pretty emotional as is. There's usually an undercurrent of sadness/guilt and such, it's been even more so since he went on his rampage (yes he's still guilting about that) and he lives in the high school.

Do you think he'd pick up on that? idek ffff

Hm, depends on how strong it is. If it's just an undercurrent it'd probably become part of the emotional static unless he tags Hisoka or something.

...but if it's all WOE IS ME /MENTAL BREAKDOWN though maybe not quite that intense then yeah, he's going to be picking up on that. XD
