the log:
Rika's message had spelled it out clearly enough. There was only one way to get back to the other Discedo without fake families, fake school studies, fake lives. And it was such a simple and easy solution when one thought about it - they just had to die. At first Ange had been content with sticking around for a day or so more to watch everyone's reactions, but after that she figured she should just get it done as soon as possible. After all, the sooner she died, the sooner she would be able to go back and see her older brother again.
Besides, the whole idea of dying to see him again was slightly ironic to Ange. She had, after all, been standing on a rooftop like this before. How long ago had it been either way? Throughout the time travelling and witchcraft and miko duties and her stay in Discedo it seemed like it had happened ages ago, and yet she could still recall the image of the world spreading out below from back then so well. She could remember her exact determination to just take that single step off the ledge and return to where her family was. Just like now. So there was no reason to hesitate, right? Ange couldn't deny that a part of her still felt some hesitation, some natural human fear at the situation. But she pushed it to the back of her mind; something like that was unnecessary right now.
Just one step over the ledge and she would be back.
Sure, it had been interrupted last time, when she had been called by Bernkastel and her whole downward spiral as a witch's piece had started, but this time was different. This was a different world, different circumstances - this time she wouldn't be stopped as easily. Not while she was certain she was alone here on the rooftop.
Or so she thought.
