[Holmes once said that when you have eliminated the impossible whatever remains, however implausible, must be the truth.
But this was just too implausible. One moment Conan had been investigating those odd crystals and the next he found himself in the familiar surroundings of a second grade classroom. He stares suspiciously at the colorful simplistic illustrations in the textbook in front of him, and resolves to get to the bottom of this.]
[ooc:Second grade classroom at the elementary school. Fell free to run into him at recess, in the lunchroom, or on the way home from school.]

[Ok. Luke was very certain he wasn't completely insane. At least, he thought it was safe to assume that he hadn't lost his mind just yet--he knew the subject that his instructor was rambling on about, and he could tell by looking around the room that his classmates were about his age. But he couldn't exactly figure out how he'd gotten at his desk. In fact, if he remembered correctly, he had been in a sea of fragments last he checked.]
[So when lunchtime came, Luke sat in a quiet corner of the cafeteria and just stared. He'd taken a few textbooks with him to do his work since he felt it safe to assume he was behind in his schoolwork. Besides, it was significantly easier to do that than to panic about where exactly he was. Furthermore, the textbook had his name in it and a home address, which looked like it had been written in in his handwriting. Evidently, that was where he lived.]
[Despite usually having quite the appetite, he found he was very much not hungry. He just wondered if he'd find someone from the Discedo he knew, so he

[Conan steps into the lunchroom and allows himself to follow the crowd walking through the lunchline and finding heir seats, even as he makes his own observations on the people surrounding him. Typical elementary school children, for the most part. No unusual markings or hobbies that stood out.
But there. Sitting in a quiet corner was a face he recognized.
Conan silently steps out of the camouflaging chaos of the lunchroom and makes his way over to the older boy.]
If my deduction is correct, you and I are in a similar situation.

[Familiar face! It was hard to hide his relief at that--when he'd loudly exclaimed 'what's going on?!' when he arrived in class earlier this afternoon, everyone had looked at him as though he'd lost his mind. He didn't fancy the detention his outburst had earned him, either. The relief of seeing a face he knew almost lead to another outburst, but he managed to restrain himself this time.]
Yes. I think we are.
[Now that he'd gotten caught loudly exclaiming how he'd been disoriented he was paranoid that others would overhear, so his next statement was more of a whisper.]

[The one good thing about spending his life as an elementary student in hiding from the Black organization, was that it took much more than merely waking in a new location for Conan to give himself away. Despite the shock, he had quickly adapted his usual child act before anyone could notice his surprise.]
Nothing so far. First we were in that place, and then I was in class. But there is something wrong about this place. Did you notice? All of the texts and lessons have an obvious bias to them. I saw it without even knowing the history they were referring to.

[Luke did not have such skills. His classmates had quickly moved on, but he still felt a bit shaken.]
About the same.
I noticed--there's other things too. It seems like nobody here has light hair, and everyone has the same facial features. It's strange. I feel like I stand out, too.
And it's not like Discedo either--there's nobody here who looks..different. Home I never saw much of people who had nonhuman features, yet in Discedo there were lots of people like that.
Re: Elementary School (Lunchtime)modernholmesApril 5 2011, 22:27:51 UTC
Ah, is that so? I haven't met very many people from here so far. But that is certainly troubling news. When you combine that with all the talk the history text had about a war...
Elementary School (Lunchtime) (I'm so sorry for the late tag!!)luke_tritonApril 10 2011, 03:25:55 UTC
It's all very odd.
But--this is Discedo before it was, well..destroyed, correct? Maybe now is the best chance we'll get to ever learn about Discedo before it became the city we know now.

[ as much as Nai probably needed to be in first grade, due to age he was in fifth grade. after much confusion to being suddenly thrust in an environment unknown, he decided to do what he did best. keep quiet. after it seemed like people were leaving, did Nai bolt out of the room and outside to the school grounds. ]

Well, a significant number of them. I can't confirm it, since I don't know the names of everyone yet. But there have been quite a few posts from people asking suspicious questions about this sort of thing. And since this is a school, it would make sense that only children would have been sent to this place.
