Wearing a jacket and a scarf, Pearl was outside and walking around the Horton building, but not too far, since she didn't want to go anywhere alone. The New Year was reminding her of how long she had been in Discedo.

Of course Pearl was glad that there were at least people she knew here, and that she wasn't alone like many other people were. Plus, there were the new friends that she had made, but it was still a depressing thought that she had spent so long away from home.

I'm guessing this is a kind-hearted one? |D

Once they were in the vicinity, Togekiss seemed to capture pleasant vibes again, this time coming from a lonely little girl wandering around the Horton area. With a nod in understanding, Cynthia instructed him to follow Pearl's direction, coming to land a few feet away from her.

"Good morning!" The Champion greeted, hopping off of her Pokemon in a fluid motion.

Aha, if she isn't channeling psychos~

Pearl jumped in surprise as two figures landed in front of her: a woman and something that looked like a bird? That was the closest thing she could think of.

"H-hello," she said a little shyly, before straightening up and waving quickly.

"Ah, please don't be afraid, we mean no harm," Cynthia offered, trying to keep the girl calm. She then proceeded to motion towards Togekiss. "I'm Cynthia, and this is Togekiss. He would like to greet you, if you wouldn't mind."

Pearl stepped forward a bit cautiously, but the woman and her... To-ge-kiss? They seemed friendly enough. "I'm Pearl," she said, giving a smile. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Cynthia. A-and I don't mind..." But to "greet" her? What did that mean? Hadn't they done that just now?

No, they really hadn't - because the Pokemon's idea of greeting involved dashing forward full force and pretty much tackling the unsuspecting girl, wrapping his wings around her in an overly affectionate hug.

"W-wah!" Said unsuspecting girl was, as expected, completely surprised by the tackle and she toppled over onto the ground. It didn't hurt, of course, Pearl was more shocked than anything at the sudden display of affection. But she giggled and hugged the Pokemon back, patting Togekiss on the head.

And Togekiss very much enjoyed getting some attention, too, so in return, he made sure to nuzzle the girl to show his appreciation, adding a chirp or two.

"Ah, Togekiss is definitely very happy to meet you!"

Strangely, Pearl was feeling much happier right now than she had been a few minutes ago. Maybe it was the effects of making a new friend? "I'm happy to meet you too!"

Togekiss seemed to feel that added happiness from Pearl as well, an overly excited Toge! coming from him before he tightened his grip on the girl - he was known for getting carried away at times.

"Easy now, sweetheart," Cynthia ran a hand along her Pokemon's feathers, trying to make sure he wouldn't squish her too hard.

Coughing slightly, Pearl gently untangled herself from the hold of the Pokemon, but smiled brightly nevertheless.

"Happy new year, Miss Cynthia! And to Toge-kiss too!"
