Welcome to Discedo's Second Monthly crash course! My name is Germany, I'll be the instructor of today's lesson. This is my assistant, Namie. We're both experienced in the life styles of Discedo in various ways, so hopefully we can provide all the answers to the questions you have. Please feel free to bring up questions at any point.
Beginning with Discedo itself;
As most of you have already been informed, the city you are located in at present is called Discedo, located on a planet which the native inhabitants call Fortuna. It is not the only city located here, mind, but I'll come back to that later.You've been kidnapped and brought here by a group called The Scientists. Presumably, they have us under constant survilance, which I can presume is not only though your communicators.
The Scientists,
are exactly was I've explained; they are your kidnappers. They make rare appearances. While they are our captors, they also provide assistance to us by means of supplies. Hopefully you've found an ally here to rely on, although please be aware that there is a chance that your friends and enemies back home can also come here. And not always from the same point in time as you. I have an ally who is just short of a 100 years in my past, where as my friend is a few months ahead of me.
There is also a chance of going home,
although, we have no control over it. The scientists chose our return date, and as far as I'm aware we have absolutely no say in it. You will be returned to your home at the exact moment you left it, so you're not missing much back home. There is, unfortunately, also the possibility of returning to Discedo. Memories of previous stays in Discedo may or may not be retained between departure and return. Meaning, there is a chance that people here know you quite well, where as you have absolutely no idea who you're speaking to.
Those of you with 'super natural' abilities,
have probably discovered that they have been taken away. As far as I know, anything that isn't something a normal human would have, it won't function upon arrival in Discedo. The Scientists have placed a chip inside of each of us which blocks these abilities. Fortunately, they can be removed by a doctor. Unfortunately there are risks behind remove it, as well as taking it out.
If you wish to remove your chip,
your powers will become upset, and potentially extremely hazardous. We've had several monster invasions due to them, including Reevers, Jellyfish, and Ghosts. From what I've read, leaving it in can also be dangerous, in the event that there is a wide spread malfunction in their operation. I haven't seen such malfuctions, myself, although Namine can speak for it in my place.
Death is not permanent here.
As far as I know, you can be returned to life from any state, be it shot, shreaded, or eaten alive. I do NOT mean to say that dying here is O.K. Please remember this during your stay.
As for communicator usage,
it's quite simple. It funtions much like a small computer. Its communicaton functions are Video, Audio, and Text. There are also a small handful of applications on it, including a calculator, basic calander, and paint program. It's relatively simple to use, but if anybody needs special help, please ask after class. If you fail to post every two weeks, there is a chance that you can be shocked.
I'm assuming all of you have found a place to live,
but in the event you are still looking for you own apartment, the livable buildings are Latimir, Marshal, and Horton. I believe Denmark--a resident here--is presently working on a fourth building. The Highschool is also livable, but often it is used for other fuctions, such as a School and various Festivals.
Food and wares,
are located on the shopping street, as well as the Inventory at the school. There is also an event that happens on occasion, in which the scientists 'reward' us with items. For example, the last time it occured, I obtained a blanket set and trink. Last halloween we were gifted candy which was--for lack of a better word--possessed.
We are also not the only people on this planet.
This past October, we were under attack by a group from what is called Hollisland. After attacking a hand full of citizens, they requested a medicine we have, and a machine which we don't. After not fufilling their ddemands, a number of them terrorized and murdered any person that sent out a network announcement during the time. As of now, they've made no other attempts to harrass us.
Natural Disasters can also occur,
including acid rain, volcanic ash, and earthquakes. I haven't personally witnessed them, so again, Namine is the one you will want to ask about that.
On the board is a list of available facilities here. I would reccommend becoming quickly acquainted with the Inventory Room, the School, and Northern Lights Bar.
