Shinjiro noticed the heavy shadow fall across the end of Bonito street. For a moment he stared at the creature... that had to be one of those new ones. He'd seen a lot of monsters wandering these streets before, but nothing like a giant shell plated hedgehog. It looked deceptively easy to deal with compared to some of Discedo's worst creatures, but he somehow doubted this would be an easy fight.

The barkeep ducked into the bar just long enough to grab his shotgun, sling his axe across his back, and make sure he had one pistol in his coat pocket and his evoker in the other. He wasn't thinking of asking others to fight with him... as usual, he was trying to take on the fight by himself. Besides, if he had to use Castor, this would be the best way.

From down Indles Trail, Cube caught eye of the spiked monster and it's new diverted attention towards something. The only thought in his mind was "Have to get there before someone else gets killed."

The small demon swiftly darted toward the beast, weaving across the street from time to time, just in case something was attempting to aim at him that he was unaware of. Upon closing in he Fired off a round of Fireballs at the spiny creature to divert it's attention... Only to get a rain of spikes over his head.

Despite his heavy equipment, it didn't take Shinjiro long to get up the street and into weapons range of the creature. He was gasping with the effort.. but he didn't want that thing anywhere near the bar. Not when he didn't know what kind of attacks it would have.

He pulled his shotgun, unsure of where to aim when...he saw a rain of spikes come down on the creature's opposite side. It seemed ready to turn and focus on whatever had taken its attention.

Shinjiro wasn't about to waste the moment. He readied his shotgun and pulled off two shots into the only varying point he saw in the monster's anatomy--its mouth.

Cube tried to doge the spiked by ducking into an alley, which only caused the buildings around him to tumble from the impact.

The hissing and grumble from his passenger didn't help int he least. Hearing the yipe from a cat only caused Cube to become quite cranky about the situation. Then he heard the sound of a gun shoot off. The demon's ears perked and when the buildings stopped rumbling, he poked his head out to see the monster shuffle.

Running behind the building, Cube was able to squeeze through to the other side, witnessing his old master being responsible for the sound.

"Shinjiro-san! Watch out for it's spikes!"

Shinjiro sprang back and coughed reflexively from the dust that rose into the air. What the hell? He could barely spare a glance into the collapsed alley though, not with this kind of a fight going on around him.

He readied his shotgun for another blast...but before he could pull that off, he saw Cube pop out around the creature's side. That made him hesitate...he didn't want the demon in range when he fired off.

"Damn... so it was attacking you."

The barkeep shifted his attention back to the monster. A strange glow had begun to rise from it. "Get back!" The way the creature was focused on them, it could only be readying some kind of power. He just hoped it wasn't strong enough to reach down to the bar.

Cube at the same thought towards Shinjiro. He didn't realize the monster was after the barkeep. In a way, it made cube happy to know he aided Shinjiro but the demon started to notice the energy around them

"Shinjiro it's going to-" Cube tried to warn his friend but instead ran to interfere, pushing Shinjiro with all his might but he was already on the move, causing Cube to run along with him, instead.

A large chuck of the building and sidewalk Cube just escaped from now gave a hot glow and scattered into the air as it exploded upon itself form the energy the monster projected.

"It's using magic!" Cube explained, knowing that might be a bit too obvious at this moment. His golden eyes darted about the monster, frantically trying to figure it's weak point.
