The awkward moment finally arrived. )

The turtle went to slide the door open--no, not home, Discedo--and put his hand on the doorknob, turning it slowly and opening the door.
Splinter would need sliding doors again, here. Or, door. There.. really wasn't room for two? But those were thoughts for another time. Now, it was about that future that would never come to be in their world.
Donatello walked in and closed the door behind him, silently padding over to Master Splinter and sitting on his kneels in front of him. It.. was familiar. Comforting. He lowered his gaze a bit as a sign of respect.
"May I speak with you, Master Splinter?" Donatello asked, his voice quiet.

He lowers his head some more. "I-I am trying to... work through something that happened. And I need your help. I've been speaking to my brothers about it, and have made significant progress, but... I need you as well."
Donatello's quiet for a long moment, then looks up at Splinter to meet his gaze. "Can I show you what I've already told them? I kept it locked away on the network so that I only had to say it once."

"This is the first part. I-I have a second as well. And.. I want to finish the last part tomorrow," Donatello explained quietly. "There was an accident that sent me to another future... a terrible future. One where I lost... my family."
"One where I ended up the only one left. After seeing your grave. A-After.. watching my brothers die, one by one."

"M-Master Splinter, I..." Don cut himself off, not sure what to say, bringing his head up to look at him for a moment before lowering his head again. "You.. did everything you could. You protected my brothers when I wasn't there. They had... forgot what you had taught them, to watch each other's backs, to be there for each other."
He closed his eyes again. "That is why they died. I-In the final battle, they.. split up. They were individuals, not a team. Even Mike, e-even him, who had been so protective of me... even if his last thoughts were of me, he still.. didn't fight together."

He suddenly shivered, and not because of what had happened to him. Donatello just realized what he had said. What he had done. The consequence of his words.
Donatello had just doomed himself and his brothers to many, many lengthy team building exercises. Which were.. sadly necessary, and he knew it. After Leo and Raph having been separated from the others so long that they needed to readjust. ... Wouldn't stop his brothers from killing him for this, however.
He laughs weakly. "I-I don't doubt that, Sensei."
Relief was evident in his face, despite his trepidation at the grueling training sessions that would be coming very soon. He looked up at his father again, then slowly held out his hand.
"I'll.. I'll show you the second part, now. I'm typing the third up tomorrow."
((OOC: Feel free to godmode Don taking the comm and giving it back as the second post plays.))
