Luffy was more than content. Sure, they had gotten scolded by Nami for wasting her tape, but he still got cake, and lots of meat, and some cool gifts. He was settled on the floor, working his way through a third slice of cake when Ace called.

"You haven't! More presents!" he exclaimed excitedly. "What is it? What'd you get me, Ace?"

"Well, we're all Nakama right?" He glanced around the room once before settling his eyes on Luffy. "but I was still with Whitebeard." Was being the key word there.

He turned slightly, thumb jutting over his shoulder to his back. What with the warmer weather he'd been just going shirtless as normal. "...you see, his mark is gone. That makes me a free man."

Not that Pops ever really bound him in any way to begin with. Ace always willingly remained by his father's side. He was given all the freedom he could ever want and spent most of his life happily with the Whitebeard crew. The others didn't know what he'd come back from and the fact that he would never go back to his crew.

"So, what I'm trying to say here is, I want to join your crew and become an official Straw Hat." There ya go kid, your birthday gift.

Luffy watched Ace as he calmly snacked on the cake. He liked the idea of presents, but talking about Ace's tattoo did nothing but confuse the boy. He was part of Whitebeard's crew, but... not anymore.

Because it burned up. Dissolved in the mass of scars and remnants from that day Luffy didn't like to think about. It felt like it had been so long ago...

Wait. Was Ace asking for a new tattoo?!

An official welcoming. Ah... Luffy finally got it. And he grinned, setting his fork down as he looked at his brother. "We can paint on you, Ace?!"

"Aahh... sure? Why not." That was probably a bad idea, but what the heck, it was Luffy's birthday.

He kinda thinks maybe his gesture kinda went over the kids head, too much cake and fun for him to realize just how deep this was or what it meant to Ace. Or maybe it was only as significant to him. He knew the others already counted him in as Nakama, but they all knew as soon as he went home (assuming he hadn't met his end prior) he'd go back to Whitebeard.

This was official, this was his home, they were his family now, he had no one else to turn to. He was giving his loyalty to Luffy and the others completely. No more being an outsider, he wasn't going to wander off to be alone anymore. He had his crew now.

Zoro had done his part - that's why there was so much damn meat in the kitchen. This was all a nice change of pace from the crap that had been happening. A distraction of sorts, but it was good to see the others in good spirits. It lifted his own a bit, enough to lean back in a chair with a glass filled with some of the good grog he'd swiped from Spero.

A smirk on his lips and liquor in his hands, he sat back and watched for now.

Chopper sat on the couch, happily eating some of the cake Nami had managed to make and that Luffy hadn't managed to swallow whole (thanks to a whack on the head and a threat to never make him cake again) while he watched his crewmates and Ace enjoy themselves.

He caught sight of Zoro off to the side, then noticed a picture that was taped up on the wall behind his head. So he hopped off the couch and scuttled over.

"Zoro! What do you think about the pictures we put up? They look cool don't they?!"

Amu quickly made her way to the Marshall, Ace had told her to meet her other Nii-san. Though Luffy was younger, so maybe she should call him Nii-chan instead. Ah, and it was his birthday. She slowed down a bit, realizing she didn't have a present.

A bit worried, she bit her lip. Well, she had told him she would give him one of her cakes from work, so when she went to work she'd bring him the cake. Yeah! It was perfect!

She started up again, making it to the door and knocking.

HELLO IMOUTO~ NICE OF YOU TO JOIN US~ dontcallmegol May 18 2010, 15:05:13 UTC
Well, looks like the others are busy just mingling and the like and Ace is the only that hears the door. So he gets up and wanders over, opening it and peering down at their visitor. He smiles warmly once he realizes who it is.

"Hey there Imouto." Awesome now you can meet your other big brother. He steps aside to let you in. "Thanks for coming and welcome to our humble abode."

He turns to shout at Luffy and get his attention. "OI! LUFFY! C'MERE AND MEET YOUR SISTER!"

Chopper's ears twitched at the knock on the door, but his cake seemed more important than answering it. Not to mention he didn't know who else it could be. Thankfully Ace got up and took care of it.

He'd been about to ask for another piece before the words reached his ears and they twitched again.

His head jerked straight toward Ace and the girl there.

"LUFFY HAS A SISTER?!"

"YAHOO! SHE'S HERE!"

And Luffy wasted no time in coming over. He was busy playing with a shiny green beetle that had flown in through the window when he heard Ace's call. He was actually pretty excited. He had never had a sister before!

He'd like her no matter how she acted. After all, he kind of liked Gramps even though that man scared the daylights out of him. Even if she hit him every day like Nami. But he didn't think she would, she seemed nicer. Luffy just bolted over, beetle in his hands.

"Hi, Amu!"
