Ace was standing on the starboard bow, leaning on the rail as he faced the wind. He smiled softly as he peered out over the water, breathing deep.

Freedom.

He reveled in the breeze as it tussled his hair and clothing playfully. His ever-present orange hat hung between his shoulders.

Aaaah it was great to be alive~

He was reflecting, remembering, and doing all he could to enjoy every last minute of this trip. It was a little piece of home, a slice of heaven. He missed this more than anything, even if this wasn't a vast, limitless ocean. It was damn close enough and the best they could hope for in a dead world like Fortuna. He wasn't going to take this for granted.

He wasn't going to forget the twists and turns this place could throw at them either. Like traveling the Grand Line, there were most likely monsters out there. Part of him was out here to relax, the other... was to watch for anything suspicious in the waters. He had been a captain and commander, it was only natural he keep an eye on things to keep their crew safe. He trusted Luffy and Zoro, but it didn't hurt to have an extra set of eyes.

Like Kevin Garnett, anything was possible on the wide seas of Discedo. Luffy had all but grown bored of sitting on the figurehead. Sure, it was his favorite spot, but even he needed to bounce around the rest of his crew. And probably steal some meat while he was at it.

Hopping off of his seat with his wide grin firmly plastered to his face, he glanced around his crew, trying to decide on which one to check on first. Bunch of sleepy people and hyper people, and probably Sanji cooking and who knew where some of them had disappeared to--oh look, there was Ace! Worked for him. He hadn't spoken to his brother too much since Ace had come back, all of them too busy bouncing around for this boat trip.

But since they were sailing, Luffy merrily walked over. "See anything interesting?" he asked, biting back the urge to just start bouncing all over everything. There was no doubt he wouldn't stand still for the entire conversation.

Speaking of interesting things - Moa was just about to careen into one or both of them. Although she'd been raised by a fisherman, in a fishing community, she hadn't actually been on many boats before. Not out in the open water like this. And so although she professed to have plenty of sailor-y knowledge...she hadn't quite gotten her sea-legs yet.

"Watch out!" Cheerily, though, and with a grin almost as big as Luffy's. Or maybe one of the cute boys could catch her...?

Just remember bro, you aren't rubber anymore. He was about to answer the question with 'nothing yet' but then Moa decided to stagger her way over toward them. He noted the deviation in her step and moved quickly to her side, catching her before she toppled over. He smiled warmly.

"Easy there."

FOUND IT!

Well, no, he's not made of rubber but he's as springy as a bouncy ball and standing still is not his normal plan of action. He grinned and just hopped over when Moa joined the brothers on the side.

"Hey, Moa! Still getting used to the boat?"

"Eek!" and then there's some awful strong arms around her and...oh my. She'd noticed that Luffy's brother was cute, of course, but now they were up close. For a moment she couldn't reply to Luffy. Oops.

"Y-Yeah, it's kinda...moving..." An astute observation indeed.

You could have a slight head-tilt at you Moa, his smile widening into a grin. It only served to light up his features and increase that wily charm the freckled pirate had. He just radiated animal magnetism, what could he say? And he was used to that deer-in-head-lights kinda look too. He kept her close, shifting only a little so she could get her feet under her again. One strong tattooed arm was wrapped around her shoulders, keeping her firmly against him till she gave him the okay to let go.

A small chuckle at her very intelligent response. "Going to be alright miss?"

And here Luffy stood, sunny-eyed and completely oblivious to the romantic endeavors happening in front of him. He was really just glad to see that everyone was getting along so well. But of course, whatever Ace and Moa were doing got kind of boring, so he waited for them to finish and just searched his nose for some more boogers.

"Yeah. Okay. I mean..." okay, Moa, time to get a hold of yourself. (Freckles are so cute.) She rights herself with his help and scootches back to an appropriate distance. Right, we're cool.

"Yeah, I will..." She turns to the third member of their group and...remembers why boys are icky.

"Luffy!"

He eased off and took a step back once she righted herself. He shifted his weight to lean back on the rail, elbows holding most of his upper body weight and arms draped lazily. He nodded, still smiling at her warmly.

Then he took notice of what Luffy was up to; digging for gold, surprise! Ace frowned and in a blink lifted a hand to crack him across the back of the head. "Oi, quit that. Leave the exploring for land when we find it."

He shook his head. Kids. "Sorry about him." He thumbed at his stupid little brother.

Not like it maaattered. He just wasn't interested and being able to breathe was a good idea. So digging it was, giving Moa a really stupid--well, same stupid expression as always, with a finger up his nose--look. "What?"

And then Ace popped him and his head fell forward. "OW! HEY! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!"

Moa braced herself against the railing when Ace and Luffy started their slapstick routine. It must be nice to be brothers (even if your little brother is icky and your big brother slaps you). Go on, don't mind her, be entertaining!

C'mon Luffy, it'd been years since he could honestly pick on you. It was all part-n-partial to the whole big brother gig after all. He turned back to the lanky teen and glared. "You were being disgusting, that's what."
