the log:

It was really a lovely Sunday afternoon, for Discedo. It was still cloudy, but the fog had finally burned off, and it was a rather balmy sort of cool compared to what it had been in August. Lisa was just minding her own business, taking advantage of the relative calm with a Sunday afternoon stroll. There were no screams, no zombies stalking around every corner, no dead bodies to trip over in the streets.

However, instead of being grateful for the reprieve, and simply counting her blessings, she was so preoccupied with contemplating the idea that it might be time to pay dear old Uncle Dio a visit and see whether or not he'd had anything to do with the recent infestation of undead nurses--and put an end to him, once and for all--that she never noticed anything was amiss until the dark-robed figure separated itself from the shadows of a hidden corner and nearly swept her off her feet.

Beneath the robes was a monstrous humanoid creature, with insectoid exoskeleton and long, muscular tail which sported sharp, sickle-like blades. Blades that she was now ducking and twisting like a gymnast to avoid. It was a Verdugo...and it had company.
