the log: (
I am not witty )
Man, this place was no less creepy than a fake Shibuya where 89% of the population couldn't see you. Here, everyone could see you, and that included all the monsters. Noise were practically walking tattoos, and Beat had thought he'd seen some strange things, but as they rounded corners and came face-to-face with things that snarled or dripped or just plain looked freaky, Beat suddenly felt a little uneducated.
The idea of a roof over his head was becoming increasingly welcomed.
"Wonder-fuckin'-ful," he sighs out as he slumps his shoulders dramatically. Hand goes to head and he straightens himself back out, looking around. The place was ... pretty banged up. But a roof was a roof.
"Whatevah, man, I'll take what I can get. Whozzis guy you were wantin' me to meet?"

And then a silver-haired boy appears, around Seifer's age and built just as athletic if not moreso, gnawing on what looks like a jerky chew pouched in one side of his mouth.
Sea-green eyes size the two up for a moment.
"Seifer, this your new-" And then he gets his first real look at his resident's bruised up condition, blinking dubiously. "Oh hey, you did get pretty knocked around!" But enough of that casual observation, its the newer face he's keener and honing in on critically, stepping forward. "This the guy you're telling me about who's gonna crash here? Beat is it?"
Kid's got the swagger down. Most of them do, this is Gohl after all, which has developed somewhat of a reputation for harboring toughened up adolescent boys with something to prove.
"Prydain." The replica shoves out a hand in greeting, smirking proudly. "Settled in this place little more than a year now. Not in peak shape, as we've take some damage from...tons of things, but there's shabbier buildings all over this city. "

And strangely, Prydain came in right in time, to meet the newcomer. His face formed a scowl at the sudden stop, and he crossed his arms. "Oh can it, it's not a big deal," he muttered. After all, if he said it long enough, it would be true.
Though he nodded anyway, stepping aside so Prydain and Beat could have their moment of introductions. Beat would probably do well in Gohl; after all, it beat the murderers in those other buildings. By now, he was pretty certain Prydain had things covered. That walk had, oddly, taken a toll on him, and he didn't plan on standing here as long as they were going to talk.
Waving an arm, he took a step back. "Show him the ropes and everything, Prydain? I'm heading in." And by in, he meant that couch on the first floor; the stairs could wait.

So Beat just sort of stood there awkwardly as the other two debate or whatever it is they do, the camaraderie hey seemed to have unspoken, a simmering respect. It made him think of Neku absently, wondering if he's ever been here, ever thought about this place, ever wanted to spray paint these cracked walls or dusty abscesses.
"Yeah, Beat," he fixes himself up quick, looks down at the offered hand with some hesitation before taking with a firm grip, as if trying to make a point of it. Weird name. But everyone's got weird names here, not nearly Japanese. This place isn't in Japan, though. "Looks like home ta me. Dis entire place looks like shit, so whateva's willin' ta offer some hospital-ity looks like freakin' heaven." Yep, he pronounced that wrong.
He turns his eyes over a little hesitantly to Future-Boss, rubbing at his own shoulder. They both got the shit kicked out of them by Math-Freak, but Seifer definitely got the worse of it and was trying to heal.
So he tries to offer a kernel of appreciation. "Yell f'you need anythin', a'ight?"

It was fun, actually, to have a newer member of the 'crew' who bucked his own leadership just a little, set the alert game of tough-guy ego matching back in action. The Twilight Town gang boss was tricky to best while still keeping him appeased enough for him to stick around...because Seifer was sort of cool to have in-house, really.
New face was hardy enough for his standards too, by the looks of things. Prydain nodded approvingly and listened with just a small bit of skepticism for his street slang.
"Hospital-what? Hnh." Prydain stretched broadly and gave a boastfully casual wave. "Well just make yourself at home Beat, okay? Take a couch for now or...wherever works. See the blue-haired girl Umi for water, and our old man Iroh for fire or heat. You bring in your part, and we all share here, see? So there's a jug of Kool-Aid somewhere, and meat strips are on the counter. Go easy. We won't be hunting for another while."
He glanced upwards, trying to recall if there was anything else. Rooming issues would get worked out when everyone else was in from their business around the city. "Oh, and you can guard out front on Seifer's watch, I guess, while he's banged up."
