Saber waited patiently in front of the Horton's apartment building, seated on what had likely been the bench of a bus stop. Having foreseen no need for her armour, the petite swordswoman wore a simple grey dress shirt and black slacks she had scavenged, her pale hair bound in a black handkerchief at the nape of her neck. Yet as a precaution, she had taken Caliburn with her, and the elaborate sword lay in its scabbard across her lap. Old habits die hard as the saying goes, and going anywhere unarmed was unthinkable to the battle-hardened former king.
While she typically maintained a firm hold over her emotions and maintained a serious demeanour, her spirits were light with the prospect of food and pleasant company. A telling sign was that she had caught herself humming a few bars of 'Knights of Snowdon' before she stopped and firmly scolded herself for the lapse in discipline. Though Johnny had told her that she needed to relax more, she remained unconvinced that she should allow her guard to fall. But surely there could not be too much harm in indulging a few simple pleasures, she decided.
