Ever since Naminé had come back to Gohl, Prydain had been acting strangely. And she was sure she wasn't just imagining it; he'd been acting coldly and barely talking to her whenever they were in the same room together. But what she didn't understand was why. She was doing all she could to help... Wasn't that a good thing? She could easily just roll over and let everyone else do everything for her. Just sit inside and sip Kool-Aid and draw on his walls every day. Or was that what he wanted...?After hearing that Vaati would return soon, she headed toward the front door of the outpost, only to receive an emotionless, "Are you going to leave?" from none other than Prydain. So, instead of waiting outside, she was now sitting by the window, watching the streets outside for any sign of the mage as she wore his hat on her head
( ... )
As he drew closer a figure slipped out the door--blonde, white dress, had to be Naminé. But what was that on her--was she wearing his hat?!
...Okay, calm down, no reason to get mad. He was overreacting. It's not like he ever told her not to wear it, even though it was a dangerous magical artifact that held all of his infinite power--no, no, stop it. It was nothing, really. No big deal. Right.
He walked over as calmly as he could and, without a word, snatched the hat off her head and put it on himself. Ahh, much better, back where it belonged...
Oh, right. Naminé.
"Uh, thank you," he said, a little awkwardly. He thought for a moment then added a hasty, "For watching my hat."
He didn't want to give her the wrong idea. He was anything but thankful for having her follow him when he was the target of a serial killer. Going off on her own, putting herself in danger... She obviously had the wrong idea about something. What in Nayru's name gave her the impression of "nice and needs company"? How stupid.
