A few little reminders today, since a few concerns have been brought up recently, and it doesn't hurt to give people a friendly brush up on the rules.
1. ICA = ICC. In other words, if your character does something ICly, there will be consequences for that action - and you have to be willing to accept those and implement them into whatever you're doing. Especially where murder and the like are concerned. If your character kills someone, they then can't ignore the consequences of that - which most of the time will extend to the police force wanting to get involved and chase them down. There have been a lot of complaints about how the police force doesn't operate well ICly, and this extends to OOC issues - most of the time, people ignore the police force, and hinder their efforts to get anything done. If you don't want police involvement, then don't have your character boasting about what they've done. Or otherwise, just hold off on doing it.
In this vein, the idea of an OOC contact post for the police has been brought up -- if you have thoughts on that, then don't hesitate to give them here, and hopefully something can be arranged ASAP if people think it'll be beneficial. Also, don't forget to use
playmyace, and make sure that you're joined up there with an account you use regularly enough so that you don't miss posts.
2. Guys, please treat others the way you want to be treated. It shouldn't need to be said, really, but play nice. This definitely includes in chat too -- we're not going to tolerate bringing down other players anywhere in the RP. If you have an issue with someone, then please talk to one of the moderators. We don't bite: we want to help, not to mention it's part of our job, and we want to resolve things as cleanly as possible. If it's a characterisation issue as opposed to something that's been done to upset another party, then try bringing it to the player first. A lot of people have their own personal crit posts, but otherwise, there's always the option of coming to talk to us about it as well.
That about wraps it up! If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
