Both animal and man stayed perfectly still, just glaring at one another to see who would strike first. Either way, one of them was going to be injured or dead. Hopefully, not the human with the hatchet. The cougar roared, trying to scare Adam out of concintrating but the ranger didn't move an inch. So much for that tactic, cat. When imtimindation didn't work, the cougar could follow up with a frontal attack, swiping a clawed paw at Adam, who dodged again but did get grazed on his right leg. He grunted before slightly staggering, moving further off the path and away from the wagons.
"Protect the wagons." Adam whispered to himself as the cougar followed, trying to swipe again. This time, the man struck back with the hatchet, hitting the attacking paw and left a deep cut. The cougar yowled and fell down before looking at Adam.
"Go find food somewhere else." he spoke, remembering Heiji mentioning how they looked like prey. Sure the beasts were big, scary and hungry but so was everything else here. What surprised Adam was that the cougar...turned around and limped away.
"...did that just work?" he asked himself then turned to the group, walking back to them. "How bad is it?" he asked Yao.
Last Edit and Hetalia allows me to do things like this:baoziaruJune 16 2011, 07:16:40 UTC
[When he saw that the cougar was turning away, he lowered his rifle.]
Well, he didn't get to the bone and I can still move my shoulders, but it feels deep, aru. [The fact that the wound wasn't healing itself quickly like it usually should was the final proof for China that the chip was indeed hindering his special abilities.]
I had a first aid kit with me when I arrived, it should be in the wagon. [He turns back the wagon and then stops. He turns to look at one of the dead cougars. He walked towards it and squatted down next to it. He had a thoughful look on his face.]
I wonder... how does cougar meat taste? [A cougar was just a big, wild cat after all. And he's had cat meat before.]
This mun actually did look this up :DbaoziaruJune 17 2011, 15:13:54 UTC
I read somewhere that cougar meat tastes like pork, aru. The animal must be skinned as soon as possible and then it must be cooked throughly to lessen the chances of getting ill.
[He goes over to the wagons anyway and searches for his first aid kit.]
Well, even if I can't cook it for everyone, I could always make a coat out of it, aru.
Wow, you learn something new everydaykungfublackfrogJune 17 2011, 16:09:45 UTC
Hmm. If there's enough to fit in the wagon then. [Even if he feels like it's odd to eat kitty, now wasn't the time to complain. Besides, it would be just rude to dismiss free food.]
[Now that Adam mentioned it, those cougars were pretty big... and they already had a lot of stuff packed in the two wagons. Then again, just two of them could feed a lot of people.]
Well, once we get my wound cleaned up, we can try loading them, aru. I could sit and start preparing them, though we'd probably have to explain to the others why we're loading dead cougars onto the wagons. [He chuckles a little at the thought. Once he finds the knapsack that holds his first aid kit, he carefully pulls it out and takes out the materials.]
