So, a "suspicious device" found at Sullivan Sq. station shut down the Orange Line and I-93 today. What was the suspicious device?
A fucking
Mooninite! There is no escape!
Did the police manage to figure out that this was just a random guerrilla/street art thing? Of course not.
NECN is reporting devices found at additional locations.
Confirmed:
Longefellow bridge
BU Bridge
New England Medical Center
Columbus St
Stuart St
Suspected:
Park Street
So, the Red Line and the bridges are now shut down, and the city is pretty much paralyzed. Man, this is gonna be hilarious when they finally figure it out. It's like the
Super Mario Question Block Hysteria all over again.
Update: More at Flickr,
here and
here. Many more photos of the
suspicious packages. I hope they delete this stuff off of flickr soon, for their sake, even if they weren't the ones who placed these particular signs. If the cops can't figure out that it's a viral marketing campaign, do you think they'll be able to figure out whether this person made them or not? I wouldn't want to be betting my ass on it, put it that way.
Hat tip to
dayan, who found the flickr stuff.
