Living for the long weekend

Oct 03, 2006 10:58

Okay so it's been and gone for another year. I'm 23 now and still don't feel like an adult.

All in all it was a pretty decent long weekend.

The Eagles won on Saturday, we had a pretty decent jam on Saturday night (did I tell you I bought myself a Fender Jazz Bass?) and that was only the start.

On Sunday I met a couple of other people from the FL team and listened to Disintegration as I drove around town.

On Sunday night I went to a party with all my old high school friends (you know the deal: "what are you doing with yourself these days?" etc) and was quite shocked when one old mate introduced me to his wife. I knew he'd been married but "this is my wife" was still a bit strange to hear.

Tottenham also won on Sunday night. Their only win before this weekend was against the bottom team but now they have beaten the top team and are "mid-table" (if such a thing exists in a league with an even number of teams).

So Yesterday was the big day. Our promo girl for the Hard-Fi concert busted her ankle so I had to organise a replacement... but again, I listened to Disintegration on a lovely sunny day (you know, the kind of day on which you should be listening to the Shins or Belle and Sebastian) and it was superb.

Dinner at the Esplanade, pints at the pub and then Hard-Fi. What a way to cap off an awesome birthday. I wasn't super-pumped for the gig but they were really good and we all had a blast.

Thanks to everyone for all the texts I received throughout the day (my phone is still warm) and apologies if I didn't reply to them all. You guys are great. :)
