Okay, so it's been a few days. Eight, I think.
Work isn't too bad, the band is going fairly well and things are generally rolling along quite nicely.
So what have I been up to lately (because I'm sure you're all dying to know)? Well:
- Doing two weeks of tech support training.
- Arguing with bandmates about our "direction".
- Seeing the Sleepy Jackson and enjoying their new album immensely.
- Sifting through 349873 emails a day related to my new editorial position with FL.
- Watching England win, watching Australia lose.
- Thinking about purchasing a new car (provided I get finance for a loan).
- Getting Strokes tickets, stalling on YYYs tickets (my two Nicks within a month of each other!)
- Not crushing on any girls. :(
The Underclass' CD is just about ready for release - we're hiring out a hall in Cannington on July 15th for a family/friends launch party. You're all welcome, however, it's ticketed so you'll need to let me know.
If you prefer the inner-city venues, our Next Big Thing heat is on Wednesday June 28th at the Rosemount. We're on at 7.30, which is less than ideal, but a gig's a gig.
These will probably be our last gigs for a couple of months, as we're going away to reinvent ourselves. We have some new instruments to work with and some new songs to work on. This ought to be interesting.
