I had a great weekend! My mom came into town(surprise!) and since we haven't seen each other in foreeeeeeever, we hung out pretty much 24/7.
Friday
- mom got in late, so we just had dinner together at Chili's and then went to HEB in preparation for lunch Saturday.
Saturday
- woke up early(relatively speaking), got coffee together and then made a great lunch before I had to go into work. Grilled chicken in alfredo sauce over stuffed, three cheese ravioli? I think I could eat it everyday. Then we took a trip to Hey Cupcake! Yummmmmm.
- went to work, goofed off with Julia and Paul for a few hours, until Paul let me go home early. My mom spent the whole time shopping and visiting the Capitol building.
- met up with my stepdad for dinner at Pappadeaux's. The line was intense, I actually don't recommend anyone going there on a Saturday night because you will wait at least an hour before being seated. Only ONE thing on the menu didn't have seafood, haha.
- split up with my mom to go to Coldtowne Theater. We got there waaay too early, but waiting around in the cold was SO worth it. The ColdTowne Heroes are hilarious. We both got in for $7. THAT RULES!
Sunday
- we drove in circles for a while because we couldn't find parking at either Kerbey Lane, so we gave up and went to IHOP instead. Always delish.
- went shopping! I haven't been shopping in a while. My mom bought me jeans and bras. Nothing stellar, the jeans are the cheap kind from Wet Seal. I hate the demin, but nothing else really fit me, and I don't own a pair right now that don't have holes in the crotch. So my mom said if I took these she would buy me better quality if I found some later anyway. Thanks mom! I haven't had new clothes in a while.
- said goodbye :(
So to summarize: good food, shopping, comedy and MOM!
It's so awesome talking to my mom now that we can be friends. I told her all about my situation with Josh right now and -- I know it shouldn't surprise me - she knew exactly how I felt, knew exactly what I was going through with him. She told me she could sense my priorities changing and that it was a good thing. I kind of wanted to ask, "Hey mom, just tell me what happens next, just tell me so I can skip all the bullshit and get to the good part." But that wouldn't be any fun at all.
