Eric finally came out from behind the dresser today, several times for petting and purring. He got so much petting that Piggy started to complain and demanded that at least one hand pet him, while the other petted Eric.
Wolf informs me that Eric has "no short term memory" as a few minutes after being petting, Eric once again ran at the site of Wolf. But then he came out again for me, so he is getting more settled. Wolf also reported that Eric has started sleeping part of the time in the room, instead of just behind the dresser.
Piggy is starting to get bored and I will soon need to figure out a way to let him start exploring other parts of the house. As it is, he has taken apart the catnip sock I made him (catnip is no where to be found) tried to take apart the bathtub and tried to remove the board covering the fire place. We put the Bast statue in front of the board to hold it in place because when Eric was still in panic mode we were afraid he might go up the chimney. Now I wouldn't worry so much, but I'm going to leave the heavy statue in place for a few days anyway.
Toys are all over the room and I think Piggy has found many of the lost ones. Neither Thor nor Trolla are big on toys, so most of theirs have been left behind dressers and under the bed gathering dust. Not any more, not with Piggy around!
The outdoor cats don't seem to have noticed yet, though Freya my office cat is acting a bit jealous. I think she knows that other cats are getting petting besides here and she does not approve. But then there are a lot of things Freya does not approve of.
Meanwhile, the guys are getting ready to leave at 5:30 am to go to the UK. I wish I could go, but they need to buy supplies for the business and bring home the redwood trees. They are only going right now because if they don't, Wolf will loose his Cambridge library card which he needs for research and he has to go in person. Since they had to go this month, doing it on an SCA event weekend seemed like a good idea.
So, I get six days of playing bachlorette at home with my kitties and my kitchen. Merlin and others will be dropping by pretty often so I'm not going to be without people all the time. But I'm hoping to get some tamales made and other stuff done that I need an empty kitchen for. As well as maybe making progress on some Yule presents. We'll see, I may just get a lot of books read, that's what happened the last time. Ah the best laid plans...
Well that's an update from Kilmurry. I'll try to post a picture of Eric's eyes behind the dresser and Piggy being cute.
