Trying to figure out how it all fits together hasn't worked out so well, anyway. Better like this, when he does what he can and doesn't worry about the times when it still falls short.

…which leads me to believe that there is way more going on in this fic than just a few good friends getting each other off. Could you speak to their backstory in this piece, and Brendon's mindset? Actually, I'd love to know the mindset of each of them.

Umm, I think I wrote that one after finishing the Brendon&Shane college AU, and it was something like an AU of an AU where maybe they actually started some kind of threesome. I don't have a whole lot to say about that, because it was just a super short pwp that I wrote in one sitting, but, yeah. I feel like with that kind of super messy bj situation, it can either be in the D/s-y vibe, a rough hate sex-y thing, or just someone who's shameless about it. I added in lines like that because I wanted to set it up as Brendon being at the place where he just don't care anymore. Trying to keep it neat didn't work so he was just going to let it all go. I think for porn to work there has to be some kind of tension and that's how I was trying to create it.

But again. Super short pwp.

I find your meme really interesting! I love talking about writing. What's intimidating about it is that I keep worrying that my questions might hit people's sensitive spots, and I don't want to hurt anyone.

I have two questions about And Then They Came On Brendon's Face, The End. The first is why that title? I have to admit I avoided reading it for a while because the title made it sound like a more flippant story. (I now use it as an example of how titles don't really matter that much ( ... )

Well, I'd been saying, "And then they came on Brendon's face, the end," for a long time in my journal, so mostly it was like a, "Hey, here's the story that went along with that," thing. It was a flippant story: not only was it a cowrite, but 99% of it was publicly written as comment fic. I think a fair number of people read it in comments, and it was the "and then they came on Brendon's face" story.

I'm not totally sure how to answer the last part of your question. Yes, obviously we were thinking about that when we wrote the story, as it was the premise for the porn. Was I worried that I was revealing something of myself in writing that story? Not especially, again because of the public evolution of the whole people coming on Brendon's face thing. I assumed that most people read my posts were I was all, "I'm normally offput by facials, but for some reason I think it'd be hot with Brendon, what is up with that?" And then all of the picspams of Brendon and his mic and his tongue... *G*. I guess that story is kind of ( ... )

Oh, I didn't mean it was necessarily revealing about you, but it explores what it's like to reveal/not reveal things as Brendon goes through that.

I'm totally fascinated by your take on that story. To me, it's not about them coming on Brendon's face at all - like, you could replace that with them doing something entirely different and it would still be the same story.

I really wish I knew what context I came across that quote, because it's nearly ungoogleable, and the actual source is an essay where it's mostly a non sequitor. I notice things about people all the time based on their writing, and there's an awesome discussion about pro-fic authors whose ids are showing.

For the University!AU: why did you have Brendon make his move (the kiss) the way he did and not in another way? Was that night the first night Brendon thought of Shane that way?

LOL, I have no idea why people think I have deep thoughts about And Then They Came On Brendon's Face, The End. It was a running joke on my lj, then I wrote comment porn with sociofemme, then we tidied it up and posted it. No pre-discussion. The reason why he wants it so bad from his bandmates is because I think he looks attractive on his knees, waiting for it. I KNOW IT'S BAD TO ADMIT THAT, BUT IT IS THE TRUTH. There are a small handful of stories that I just don't have anything to talk about (also: May Be Naked, the sex pollen I wrote with untappedbeauty). I AM SORRY.
