And I stood there, to watch the world change

Reflections off the car windows,
reveal the details of the hand sewn lace
found spread out about the sky.
Through the lace, a luminous golden light
Comes down with the rain.
The black pavement forms pools of rusted iron,
disturbed by the splashing of mercury.
Drops of water stain the darkened silver roof tops,
with the chalk of a red brick.
