Draco Malfoy painting

I wanted to finish this painting a lot sooner, but apart from work, I hadn't been feeling all too well *o, woe is me*. So, this is my first painting of a Slytherin, basically, Draco left an impression on me after reading HBP... (I never really cared much for the character in the previous books).

Anyway, Draco looked a lot more like he did by the end of HBP in the early stages of the painting, but it didn't feel quite right, for me. Basically, what changed my mind about Draco as a character is the choices he's had to make to protect his family, so I wanted to portray him just as he's entering his sixth year at Hogwarts, knowing the task that lies ahead of him. I made his face softer (his chin was pointier at first) with very light freckles, which makes him look slightly vulnerable, it also helps to offset the white and green of his uniform and the background (two colours which can look very unforgiving and harsh, imo). And, the hair. O, the hair! Do you know how hard it is to paint someone wearing a white shirt and white-blond hair? Do you know?! Bloody nightmare, that is! I had to keep the light source very neutral (and and all over the place) to keep his hair colour the way you see it, and not make it look too yellow against the white shirt, so I tried not to shade his hair too much.

And his Slytherin tie looks sexy, yeah?

Many thanks to leelastarsky for the little info on Draco, since my memory is basically crap and I couldn't remember some of Draco's general features. This painting is dedicated to her ^^
