It's a cold January morning in Paris. The steps of Notre Dame and the area immediately surrounding the cathedral are practically abandoned. In the wake of the Mist's retreat, Parisians are frightened even of natural darkness, and few dare to venture out until the sun has fully risen.
Then, from the towers above everyone's heads, the bells begin to sound. Peals that you can feel ringing through your chest, lifting your heart and the heart of everyone in the city. Finally, Paris begins to awaken, and its populace faces a new day, while the three mismatched persons who find themselves plunked down in front of the cathedral face an entirely different challenge.
