He had said he would show up and, of course, he was going to be true to his word. Conversations with Astrid had been a small source of amusement for him after he arrived ever since he found out what got her angry. It was like tormenting a puppy by not giving it it's ball.

Holding his large chakrams in his hands, Axel appeared at the courtyard she had chosen. Where he came from...well that was his little secret. Wasn't exactly his fault that it seemed like he showed up out of nowhere.

"Yo."

"Gods- Axel! Where did you- that was not funny. Were you trying to be funny?" Astrid was fuming already, but attempting to keep it in check. She could fight him later. "I'm going to deal with you after this. Just stay here and listen."

Glaring at him once again, she brings Aladdin and Rameses over to stand with them, waiting for everyone to be ready before she begins speaking.

Axel shrugged with a small smirk quirking the corner of his lips, "What are you talking about? I wasn't doing anything other than saying hello."

From the looks of it, there were two other guys around his age with Astrid, being the small token female, being the one to teach them. And from her statement, Axel can only assume that she wanted to use him for demonstration.

Well, who was he to refuse? But she was going to get a little surprise if she thought he would go easy on her.

"Hey," said Aladdin, giving Axel a bemused grin and a half wave of greeting. He'd grown up on the streets and knew the advantages of being able to seemingly appear out of nowhere, so he didn't even blink at his apparent materialization. (Besides, his best friend was a magical being with phenomenal cosmic powers. Genie appeared and disappeared all the time.)

Shifting his eyes over to glance at the guy who just walked up, Axel gave him a small smirk in acknowledgment. He glanced him over to see what type of person he was just based off first impression. Laid back posture, approachable personality and, with no weapon in hand, probably someone who came with the intention of being taught about them. "Here to watch the kid chop me into bite sized pieces?"

"Hey, hey, now..." a voice drawls. There's suddenly another new arrival - a man in a black leather jacket sitting cross-legged on the empty folding table meant for guest weapons, hands stuck in his pockets for warmth. After all, there's still snow blanketing the quad.

He extracts his hands to make slicing-and-dicing motions with gloved fingers. "If there's going to be any kid-chopping, I'd prefer it to be large chunks. More easily buried that way."

woah, where are you all coming from?! alwaysaxefirst February 2 2011, 11:47:56 UTC
Astrid jumped, ready to yell obscenities at whoever it was- "Oh. Hey there pirate guy." She's still working on a better nickname, okay?

"Well, now that the supervisions here- as if I'd get started without him, right?" She smirks, not at all perturbed at being surrounded by older, taller and mostly generally scary guys, "It's time to show you something, I guess." Walking over to one of the tables, she picks up a little something
, carrying it easily. "This here is a halberd. Anybody heard of them?"

Aladdin wondered if it was all right to be amused by the sudden appearances and the unusual conversation. He grinned in the end, happy to assume that nobody was really going to get chopped up.

"It's the supervisor here to stop people from getting chopped up?" he noted, admiring the halberd. It looked vaguely similar to something Uncouthma might have used, but he couldn't have put a name to it.

Another one showed up and Axel had noted some familiarity with him but, didn't show any recognition on his face. He didn't know who he was so, any recognition would likely be from passing by each other.

"I think her plan was for bite size and then toss in the ocean rather than bury," Axel shrugged, "Then the fish do all the clean up. Takes a bit too long for them to eat if the pieces are too big." This would be a bit strange that he was talking about his death so openly but, Axel wasn't exactly bothered by the subject.

Also he was more amused with this conversation and, obviously ignoring Astrid's little show and tell.

Astrid rolls her eyes at the conversation and decides that of they're not going to listen, she'll make them watch.

"Axel, stop talking about the ways in which I'm going to kill you and get over here. Pick up one of these and get ready to defend yourself." She gestures to a circular wooden shield, obviously meaning to put the halberd to practise.

She didn't deny that she was going to kill him. That might be slightly unnerving to the average folk to hear that.

Stepping up towards the small girl, Axel glanced at the shields she was pointed to and looked back at her with a raised eyebrow. "So you're coming at me with a spear and all I have to defend me is a circle of wood?" Holding up his own chakrams in his hands, Axel made the simple suggestion, "Can I use my own?" They were roughly the same shape and size as the shield but made of metal, pointed at the ends and not really meant for defending because it was a ring.

She frowned at Axel- again- and rolled her eyes. "A halberd, not a spear. And yes, that's the idea. I was planning to show how you handle one."

Aaand woah. "Wind and fire wheels." Okay, no way he just using a shield now. "Okay, yes, you can. You have to, actually, because those are awesome. Gentlemen, consider this a double demonstration." She pushed back the tables a little and prepared herself, waiting for Axel to move. "Okay, simple rules- you have to tap, not actually attack- and no cheating or dirty moves. Start when you're ready." Astrid herself was feeling fairly confident, but not overly so. That would be a mistake, no matter who you're fighting.

Taps weren't really possible with pointed objects. One of them was likely going to end up shedding blood by the end of this. Glancing over at the audience they've collected, Axel idly spun one of the chakrams in his hand, listening as she said out the rules and gave him the go ahead to start. Keeping the second weapon at his side, Axel focused on the one in his hand, taking his time before he let the flames start forming around the blade edge.

Astrid may recognize the weapon itself but he was certain that she didn't know his fighting style and his abilities with fire. So, letting the flames burst around his hand, Axel swung his arm and threw the weapon hard towards the girl.

Luckily for Astrid, she had plenty of experience with fire and dodging it. She still wasn't it to come from Axel's weapons though, so it was a close miss when she ducked. Her cheek stung a little and when she reached up to touch it, she found it was burnt.

Wasting no time complaining, she leapt forward and swung the halberd at Axel's unprotected side. "You already broke a rule."

"That was a tap," Axel insisted as she charged towards him, making him step back so he didn't get the halberd skewering him, using the spearheads on his weapon to help defend himself from any more of her attacks. He kept his eyes on her but at the same time, took quick glances to his chakram as it whizzed through the air to circle back towards him.

"You might wanna duck now."

"Taps don't normally leave marks, you know." Hearing the whizzing of metal through air behind her, Astrid took his advice without question- well, sort of. Instead of ducking out of the way, she spun and knocked the chakram to the left with the end of the halberd, backing away from Axel for a moment.

"So when do you want to finish?"
