What: A modified New Year's tradition.
When: New Year's Eve
Warnings: Mercenaries and champagne. What's the worst that could happen?
It certainly wasn't the New Year's Eve that Preston Whitmore usually hosted.
Then again, Helga Sinclair was not the host her employer was. She didn't have a warm fire going or plush armchairs. Just a few chairs borrowed from other offices. She'd brought a few extras, simply because she knew about uninvited guests showing up and other such happenings.
Whitmore had sent crystal glasses with the two bottles, and those were set out, the bottles in a pail of ice.
It wasn't the traditional formal event, but it was in the spirit of the tradition.
Helga sat not at her desk but on it, dressed in her military-like outfit. Another thing she preferred about this "new" tradition was that she didn't have to dress up. She far preferred "come as you are" type affairs.
