Oh dear, Lottie is visually pretty nervous.

She's never liked doctors.

Ever. She hated the smell of the offices, the stethiscopes, the needles, the popsickle sticks, the cotton balls and swabs, the little device they stuck in the patient's nose and ears, the feel of rubber gloves... Ugh.

Deep down, even child Lottie knew this was because doctors had failed to save her mother. She had later found out from Big Daddy that he brought in numerous doctors too, but it didn't matter. Her mother was taken from her anyways.

"Hi there, doctah..."

Nope. Not budging from that doorway.

Poor thing looked downright scared. Sweet knew that nobody liked doctors. Bearers of bad news on far too many occasions. Didn't seem to matter how many times he'd kept a man from dying. The times he couldn't always stuck with him, with the man's family.

Seems with this one, it was the case.

"Come on in. Just sit on down. Don't worry bout the table. There's just a chair right there."

Maybe the chair would help.

"A-alight."

Lottie warily took a few unsure steps before scurring over to the chair.

"S-so... what's goin' t'happen now?"

Sweet smiled and put her file to the side.

"I jus' wanna know about you. I'll go first. Tell you a little somethin' about me. When I was a kid, growin' up on the Kansas plains, every autumn those leaves would fall and it'd be beautiful. Then the rain would come and I was a snifflin' mess. Made my nose act right up. Mold. I don't like mold. Well, I don't mind it, but my body does. Studyin' with the medicine men taught me how to get rid of all that sufferin'."

He leaned forward in his chair, setting an arm across one of his legs.

"What about you?"

"Kansas?" Strange, he didn't seem like a country boy. Because, obviously, there's no cities in Kansas.

"W-well... I lived in N'ahlans all my life, with Tiana and Big Daddy... Then there was some voodoo and things happened and now Tia and I are here."

Aheh.

Poor Lottie. That didn't really tell him all too much; life story doesn't equal "a little something", but she's so nervous she kind of skated over that.

"Yup. Kansas territory was where my mother lived. Arapaho woman. My dad settled there after he met her. I lived with the Arapaho Indians, grew up with em' really."

He shrugged, as though it were the most normal thing in the world.

"New Orleans? Nice town. Wait. Holdup. Tiana? Tiana Sweet? That's my niece! And a Sweet she is. She still making a mean beignet?"

Never mind the first part.

Lottie just stared for a minute.

Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. Tick. DING.

"What?! No way! What a small world!" Holy keysmashing, Batman!

"And yes, she's still th'bes' cook t'evah walk N'ahlans, though not too many people know that!"

"Ah, I'd know that girl's cookin' anywhere. Been a long time since I've been down to New Orleans. She doin' alright?"

He was curious about Tiana, mostly because he'd heard she was up here. Hadn't seen her yet, and the girl was his niece! Not even a hello.

"Well, she doesn't talk t'me much here. She mos'ly keeps t'herself and Naveen. Guess th'lovebirds are a l'il too infatuated t'really care 'bout anyone outside their relationship..."

After all, Lottie shared a room with Tiana, and the only real time they spoke was when they wished eachother goodnight, or had a question about where they placed a certain belonging.

"Now, now... who's this Naveen? Some guy she met somewhere?"

He knew he hadn't been around, but hey, Uncle's got a right to be protective.
