The school seemed to loom in front of Violet as she stood in front of it, her eyes wide as she stood just outside, staring at the large front doors.
So this was it?
She had to take a moment to suck in a deep breath. If Dash can do it, so can I... she told herself firmly, holding tightly to her backpack as she finally forced her feet to move. Just one foot, then the other...
Pushing the doors open, she peered inside, her long black hair shifting with the slight tilt of her head as she paused, listening for the sound of any students. Man, she hoped the office wouldn't be hard to find... The idea of asking someone else for help! The very idea brought a hot flush into her cheeks and she once again had to mentally force herself to move forward before she finally stepped inside.
