1. Dimitri has never known his parents. He was abandoned as an infant on a cook's doorstep. This lead to a childhood without many hardships orphans at the time faced, as the cook arranged - work for him in the royal palace in St. Petersburg. Despite this relative comfort, parental (or otherwise) love and affection was unknown to him.
2. Hunger was not as constant as it became when the Bolsheviks destroyed the royal family, even when he was a servant.
3. Mahler is his favorite composer because Her Highness Tsarina Alexandra often played his records to her children in their private rooms. He would constantly be caught leaning against the door to listen.
4. He's had his fair share of women (about three to be exact), all of whom he has lied to, cheated, stolen from, or made a swift exit in the morning. "Pure" love means nothing if there's nothing to gain from it.
5. He had planned to start anew in Paris with or without Anya's success.
6. Much to his dismay, he's beginning to wish she was here.
7. While he does love a good party once in a while, he enjoys his space to masturbate think.
8. Vlad was the first person he saw after the night of the October Revolution. Vlad was going through the palace searching for survivors and collecting valuables before the armies rushed in to destroy or use the most valuable pieces to fund their revolution.
9. His con activities hit a very hard low when he was nineteen. He owed several government officials money for the protection of his "clients" and consequentially was cornered by the police on the way to his apartment and beat to near-death. They broke his nose (which is why it has a hook), as well as both of his hands, and left some very huge bruises that definitely give his body character. He's thankful to this day that that's all they did, as he could have been sent to prison, a gulag, or the wall.
10. He cares not for dogs and wonders why the supposed Grand Duchess would either. He recalls many vicious, snarling dogs coming for the royal family.
